How rankings work
PhysioFinder orders clinics with a simple formula, not a sales team. No clinic can buy a higher position, and there are no sponsored slots mixed into results.
Match to what you need
We read what you describe — “knee pain when I run”, “recovering from hip replacement” — and work out which kinds of physical therapy fit. Clinics that list those specialties rank highest, clinics that list general orthopedic care rank partially, and everything else ranks lower. You can change the specialty filters at any time.
Distance
How far the clinic is from the ZIP code or city you searched, measured from ZIP-code centers. Closer clinics score higher, up to about 30 miles.
We don't yet have reliable review or insurance data for every clinic, so neither affects the order today. If we add a factor, we'll update this page first.
What never affects your results
Clinics cannot pay for higher organic placement. Whether a clinic has claimed its profile carries zero weight in the formula. Claiming only lets a clinic correct its details, never change where it appears.
Where our data comes from
Clinic names, addresses, phone numbers and clinic type are compiled from public sources. Specialty tags are largely inferred from clinic names and reviews, so we label them as inferred until the clinic confirms them. Distances are currently measured from ZIP-code centers. Always confirm details with the clinic before booking.
